CITRUS HEIGHTS, Sacramento County — October 25, 2026. The City of Citrus Heights says construction on its first major street-resurfacing project has been completed, with 219 road segments receiving some form of treatment. The city also reports that its Council approved a new construction contract on October 14 to begin the first two steps for streets included in the 2026 and 2027 Pavement Maintenance Program.
Why different streets look different after repairs
In an October 15 municipal explanation, city officials address common resident questions about why pavement treatments vary among neighborhoods. Different techniques are used according to street conditions, traffic and underlying construction. The city describes a pavement-preservation program, not an identical full reconstruction of every residential roadway.
How to track upcoming roadwork
Completion of this year’s first resurfacing program does not mean all city streets are finished or that future closures are over. The new contract begins additional steps in the 2026–27 plan. People who travel, bike or park along streets under work should consult City of Citrus Heights official updates for project-specific dates and any signage, rather than assuming every neighborhood will be closed.
Residents may also contact the city’s Public Works department about individual road defects or access needs. The city announcement explains the maintenance approach but should not be treated as a guarantee of a specific resurfacing date for any one address.
